Feast days of patron saints are also observed locally. Many businesses and shops may be closed in Milan on December 7, the Feast of St. Ambrose. Avoid scheduling a business trip to Italy in August, when most of the locals are on vacation, especially around Assumption, the August 15 national holiday.
